FAQ - Pokémon Starters
What is a starter?
The first Pokémon the player picks at the beginning of each game, chosen from a Grass, Fire and Water trio. It's your very first partner, which explains the special bond players feel for it.
Which starters appear in this collection?
The Kanto trio — Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle — dominates by far, rounded out by starters from more recent generations such as Piplup and Fuecoco.
Are there products featuring all three starters?
Yes, several designs bring the Kanto trio together on a single item, notably the t-shirts, posters, puzzles and earrings sold as a set.
Which starter should you choose in the games?
Squirtle is the most forgiving for a first playthrough of Red and Blue, thanks to its advantage over the first two Gyms. Charmander is the hardest early on and the most powerful afterwards.
Which starter product makes a good gift?
An item that brings all three together is the safest bet when you don't know the recipient's favorite. Failing that, Charmander and Squirtle remain the most universally loved.

Everyone remembers that first choice, standing in front of the professor, between three Poké Balls set out on a table. Our Pokémon starters now run from a Chespin plush to a Piplup kigurumi, and finally let you wear, gift or set on your desk the one you picked at eight years old.
OUR POKÉMON STARTERS 🌿
The Pokémon starters section runs to 90 products, and they have very little in common. Eight resin keycaps, seven plushies, seven t-shirts, six caps, six sweaters, four embroidered patches, four baby bodysuits, four duvet covers and four kigurumis live side by side, not to mention the figures, the keychains and the iPhone cases. Prices stretch from 14,90 € for a keychain to 109,90 € for a duvet cover.
CHARMANDER'S FLAME MOVES TO THE BACK OF A POKÉMON SWEATER 🔥
The six sweaters play both sides. The Pokémon Sweater - Charmander (Flame) wears the face on the front over a textured orange, with the tail flame printed on the back; the Squirtle one answers in sky blue, with the brown shell and cream belly on the back. The four kigurumis go even further, with a snouted hood, a sewn-on flame tail for Charmander and a blue cape for Piplup.
EVERY POKÉMON FAMILY HAS ITS OWN FABRIC 🧥
Nothing is made the same way from one section to the next. The sweaters are made of polyester brushed on the inside, with an all-over print that doesn't flake in the wash; the Bulbasaur hoodie switches to brushed fleece, with a lined drawstring hood and elastane ribbing at the cuffs. The kigurumis are cut from coral fleece with snap buttons and side pockets, the caps use an airy mesh at the back and raised embroidery, and the keycaps a resin cast onto a Cherry MX stem.
THE WHOLE HOUSEHOLD WEARS THE SAME POKÉMON 👶
The sweaters run from kids' 110 cm to adult 4XL, fourteen sizes in all, with weight guides in the chart on every product page — far more reliable than a letter on an Asian cut. The caps adjust with a snap strap from 54 to 60 cm. For the littlest ones, the baby bodysuits go on from the very first months while the Rowlet plush keeps them company at night.
POKÉMON STARTERS SURVIVE EVERY GENERATION 🕹️
Kanto doesn't have a monopoly. Piplup, Rowlet, Chespin and Fuecoco each have their own page too, as a plush, a t-shirt or embroidered on the front of a cap. For a gift that can't miss, thepatch at 14,90 € irons onto a jacket and the keycap slips into an envelope. To really mark the occasion, the duvet cover where Pikachu meets Charmander and Bulbasaur transforms a whole bedroom.
The first choice, the one you never forget: our Pokémon starters collection brings together the starters from every region.
Each one has its own page, starting with Charmander and Squirtle.
