What do you need for a complete back-to-school kit?

A satchel or backpack sized for A4 binders, a pencil case, a water bottle, a lunch bag for the cafeteria or snack time, and the stationery supplies. This section brings it all together in one place.

Which bag should you choose by grade level?

In elementary school, a structured satchel with a padded back to spread the load. In middle school, a larger and more flexible backpack, since there are more textbooks and they weigh more.

How much should a loaded satchel weigh?

The common rule is to stay under 10% of the child's body weight, satchel fully packed. Our compact models weigh 600 g empty in a 33 × 22 × 6 cm format, which leaves that much more margin for textbooks.

Will the supplies last a whole school year?

The pencil cases and satchels in this section are made of coated polyester with reinforced zippers, built for everyday use. Zippers are what give out first, usually on an overstuffed bag.

Can you label the bag with your child's name?

A stick-on label on the inner lining holds up better than marker on coated fabric, which rubs off with friction. Most of our bags have a name tag built in for exactly this.

Prices range from €12.90 for the pen set to €89.90 for the priciest of the backpacks. Seven families share this section and they are nothing alike: a pencil case, an insulated bag and a card binder do not answer the same September need.

THE POKÉMON PENCIL CASE, THE LUNCH BAG AND THE BACKPACK 🥪

The pencil cases are €24.90, in lined canvas with two compartments or in a semi-rigid compartmented shell, all around 21 cm long. The lunch bags, from €24.90 to €29.90, are made of aluminum-lined insulated canvas with a handle and a side mesh pocket, and keep a meal cool for several hours.

The backpacks open up the widest range, from €29.90 to €89.90. Some are made of water-repellent polyester canvas with a padded back and two side pockets, in two sizes, the small one for preschool and the large one for elementary school. Others are full plush characters — Mimikyu stands 50 cm tall, Charmander 35 cm — with padded straps and a zippered back compartment.

POKÉMON CARDS TRAVEL WITHOUT BENT CORNERS 🃏

This section devotes two distinct families to them. The storage cases, from €16.90 to €24.90, run from the hard shell that holds about a hundred cards upright to the roomier end of the range—faux-leather-covered EVA case that holds around 400, wrist strap and carabiner included. The €34.90 binders hold four cards per page on both sides and close on three sides: turn one over and nothing falls out.

A POKÉMON BACK TO SCHOOL COMES DOWN TO SIZES 📦

The compact bag listed at 33 × 22 × 6 cm and 600 g is meant for daily trips and short getaways, not a full day of textbooks. A 50 cm plush backpack, on the other hand, turns heads in the schoolyard but holds little. Check the dimensions before the character; it is the one number you cannot make up for mid-year.
