Wyndon, a Metropolis Straight off Macro Cosmos's Drawing Board
You can only visit it in Sword and Shield, at the very top of the map of Galar, at the end of Route 10. No other city in the region comes close, and among the cities known in the Pokémon world, only Lumiose City is bigger.
Wyndon didn't grow by chance: Macro Cosmos designed it and then built it, and the city's sign praises the vision of its chairman, Rose. Its avenues transpose London into the Pokémon world, and its name is probably a nod to the Windsors, the dynasty that reigns over the United Kingdom.
Wyndon Stadium, the Final Step Before the Champion's Title
This is where the Gym Challenge reaches its conclusion. Badges in hand, Trainers converge on Wyndon Stadium for the Champion Cup, the tournament that decides who gets to challenge the Champion: Galar has no Elite Four, and this competition takes its place.
Waiting at the end of the road is Leon, the region's undefeated Champion, with his faithful Charizard. Whether you play as Victor or Gloria, the battle that closes out the main adventure is fought on this pitch, and victory makes you Galar's new Champion.
The tournament isn't played straight through. Before the showdown with Leon comes the Darkest Day, the crisis Rose sets off around Eternatus and the energy that powers Dynamax.

Rose Tower, the Hotel and the Station: Key Landmarks
At the northern tip of the city rises Rose Tower, the headquarters of Macro Cosmos, from which Rose runs his company's business. During the story, his employees are out in force: facing a wall on the square, one of them sends out a Galarian Meowth and a Durant. TM93 waits behind the tower's sign; once the adventure is over, the tower becomes the Battle Tower.
The rest of the city is geared toward tourism, with hotels and shop windows. You'll find the Rose of the Rondelands hotel, a Pokémon Center, a clothing boutique, the hair salon, the ultimate move tutor, the train station and the Pokémon League headquarters.
Curious explorers are rewarded: a Big Nugget sits near the hotel, a Rare Candy at the foot of the tower's elevator, and a pair of X Sp. Atks beside the stadium steps. In the east alley, a League staff member gives the Rotom Catalog to anyone who beats his three Rotom in battle. Later, at the Battle Tower, a Type: Null is given to players who have finished the game.
Ash and Goh in Wyndon in Pokémon Journeys
In Pokémon Journeys, the city serves as the gateway to Galar for Ash Ketchum and Goh. In JN004, their train to the Wild Area is running late; they use the wait to taste the local scones, which are promptly snatched by a Scorbunny and three Nickit. Goh covers for the little thief in front of the vendor, and Scorbunny ends up boarding with them.
Episodes JN012 and JN013 turn the stadium into a world stage. With Dan refereeing from atop his Aegislash, Leon defeats Lance in the final of the World Coronation Series: his Gigantamax Charizard topples the red Gyarados in its Dynamax form. A Gigantamax Drednaw (stirred up by Team Rocket) then attacks the arena, until Ash's Pikachu Gigantamaxes against all odds and takes it out. Leon thanks him with a friendly battle… which he wins.
In JN027, the group comes back to watch Leon overpower Raihan and discovers in the lobby a golden statue of the Hero of Galar, and Sonia tells the story of the hero's battle against the Darkest Day. Ash catches a Galarian Farfetch’d that was beaten by his Riolu, and Goh wins over a Sobble on the outskirts of the city in JN028. In JN043, Rose invites Ash to dinner in his tower and offers him a place among his recruits: Ash turns him down, determined to forge his own path.

The World Coronation Series Ends at the Stadium
Ultimate Journeys returns to the station as early as JN091: while following Allister to return a ticket he lost, Ash and Goh end up on an underground platform and board a ghost train heading for Stow-on-Side.
In JN099, Ash has to face Marnie at the stadium. Even though Team Yell sends him off to Spikemuth, Piers gets him back in time; Ash wins, but Marnie's battling style wins over the crowd and helps bring her hometown back to life. In JN100, he watches Leon win once again, and Leon then invites him to train alongside him.
The group returns to Wyndon in JN115, this time for the Masters Eight Tournament: Ash and Goh run into Hop right after they arrive. It's on this pitch that Ash finally beats Leon and becomes world champion.

Wyndon in Twilight Wings and Pokémon Evolutions
The miniseries Pokémon: Twilight Wings establishes, from its very first episode, "Letter," the office of Oleana in Rose Tower, where she later gets a call from Bea. Nessa later decides to go there to tell Rose her decision, and the city also shows off its Battle Café, where she shares a snack with Sonia.
The episode "Assistant" reveals that Oleana is in charge of Wyndon's urban planning and works mostly from the tower, which doesn't stop her from visiting building sites or strolling through the streets, especially at night. In "Sky," it's Leon who heads to the stadium to battle Raihan.
Pokémon Evolutions opens its series in the city. In the episode "The Champion," as he puts his title on the line against Victor, Leon relives the Darkest Day and has to come to terms with having failed to stop it.
