A marshland of sixteen areas
Stagnant water and waterlogged ground dominate the landscape: the Crimson Mirelands are Hisui's great marshland, which you explore in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. They are divided into sixteen areas, from the Golden Lowlands to the Sludge Mound, by way of Gapejaw Bog, Bolderoll Slope and Cottonsedge Prairie.
Their wildlife reflects the setting, but not exclusively: Toxicroak, for example, lives here just as it does in most of Hisui's major areas. You reach the marsh after the Obsidian Fieldlands, and the Cobalt Coastlands come next in the adventure.

The Diamond Clan's territory
The marsh is the domain of the Diamond Clan, led by Adaman. The clan's village, the Diamond Settlement, is one of the territory's areas.
Past and future meet here: the Solaceon Ruins will one day stand next to Solaceon Town, and Lake Valor, another home of the lake guardians, will keep its name all the way into the Sinnoh era.

Lilligant and the marsh's battles
Brava Arena is home to Lilligant, the Noble Pokémon of the marsh, in its Hisuian form. As with the other nobles, you have to quell it rather than defeat it.
The marsh also holds two memorable battles: Volo challenges the player at the Solaceon Ruins, and Coin lies in wait for them in the Golden Lowlands.

Ursaluna, Azelf and Enamorus
The marsh is also where you get Ursaluna as a ride Pokémon, whose keen nose can dig up buried items.
Two Legendaries live here too: Azelf, the guardian of Lake Valor, and Enamorus, the only Force of Nature introduced in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

The ancestors of Solaceon, Veilstone and Pastoria
Three towns in Sinnoh will rise on these lands: Solaceon Town, Veilstone City and Pastoria City, all three built on the old marshland. The landscape still remembers the marsh: centuries later, Pastoria City is home to the Great Marsh and its Safari Zone.
The Trading Card Game hasn't forgotten the place either: a card dedicated to Gapejaw Bog in the Crimson Mirelands appeared in the Astral Radiance expansion, released in France on May 27, 2022.
