Plains, a river and two islands
The Obsidian Fieldlands are the first territory you explore in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Their name says it all: a vast expanse of plains, cut through by a river that carves out two islands, the larger of which holds Deertrack Heights. They open the way to Hisui's other territories: the Crimson Mirelands, the Cobalt Coastlands, then the Coronet Highlands.
There are seventeen areas, from Floaro Gardens to the Heartwood, by way of Horseshoe Plains, Worn Bridge, Obsidian Falls and Ramanas Island. Toxicroak is among the species you can encounter there.

Lake Verity and Grandtree Arena
To the west, sheltered by a ring of cliffs, lies Lake Verity. It is the home of Mesprit, one of the three lake guardians that also appear among the legendary trios of Sinnoh.
To the south stands Grandtree Arena, the domain of Kleavor. This Noble Pokémon is the first one the player has to quell, and it sets the tone for the battles to come.

Wyrdeer, Shaymin and Landorus
This is where you meet Wyrdeer, the first ride Pokémon of the adventure, which lets you cross the plains much faster than on foot. Its warden, Mai, even challenges the player here.
Two exceptional Pokémon round out the picture. Shaymin, a Mythical Pokémon, has to be earned through the side request "A Token of Gratitude", which requires Sword or Shield save data on the console. Landorus, one of the Forces of Nature Legendaries, lives here too.

The cradle of four Sinnoh towns
The Obsidian Fieldlands foreshadow the Sinnoh of Diamond and Pearl: Twinleaf Town, Sandgem Town, Oreburgh City and Floaroma Town will one day be built on this land.
Lake Verity, for its part, comes through the centuries unchanged: you find it again in Sinnoh under the same name, still tied to Mesprit. A subtle thread thus links Hisui's past to the region players had known since 2006.
